Happy Friday from Delray!
September is one of those sweet in-between weeks here, still plenty of sunshine, Restaurant Month menus all over downtown, and just enough going on that you can fill a weekend without needing a spreadsheet. I wanted to share a few things worth putting on the calendar, plus a handful of city updates and new spots to try.
What’s happening around town Downtown
Delray Restaurant Month runs all of September, so if you’ve been meaning to try somewhere new on Atlantic, this is the month to do it. Special menus are popping up from the beach to Pineapple Grove.
Tonight (Friday, Sept. 11):
Meditation in the Museum at Cornell Art Museum, Old School Square, 11 a.m.–12 p.m.
42nd Street on the main stage at Delray Beach Playhouse (950 NW 9th Street), 7:30 p.m.
The Rumbletones play “Roots of Rock N Roll” at Arts Garage, 8–10 p.m. Open mic at Dada on Atlantic, 9:30 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 12:
Pilates with Purpose at Bounce Delray (33 SE 3rd Ave), 9–11 a.m. — a community class with local vendors; proceeds support earthquake relief in Colombia. Bring your own mat
Sunrise beach yoga at The Seagate Beach Club, 8 a.m. Umoja McNeish — “Violins Reimagined” at Arts Garage, 8 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 13:
Eagles vs. Commanders watch party at THRōW Social if you’re a football household Looking a little further:
Tuesday, Sept. 15
“Fish Tales Revisited: A Local History of Fishing!” lecture at the Delray Beach Historical Society, 6–8 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 16
Floral arrangement + candle-making workshop at Candle Land (415 E. Atlantic), 6:30–8 p.m. Meditation in the Museum is back that morning too
Thursday, Sept. 17
Sunset Stroll at Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, 5:30–8 p.m., with taiko drumming and a Florida Supercon cosplay fashion show. Tickets are online only in advance Friday, Sept. 18 Electric Atlantic EDM
Fridays grand launch at THRōW Social, 10 p.m.–2 a.m.
Mark your calendar for Saturday–Sunday, Sept. 26–27:
The free Downtown Delray Beach Craft Festival returns, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Handmade jewelry, pottery, art, and more along Atlantic
The winter GreenMarket at Old School Square picks back up later in October
