Broward Building Permit News, Co

Hey Broward friends,

it’s Christina Miranda PA, your trusted real estate expert, bringing you the latest scoop.

Government Moves

If you’re a homeowner, flipper, or contractor, you’re going to love this update.

As of August 14, 2025, the Broward County Board of Rules and Appeals (BORA) has greenlit remote virtual inspections (RVIs) for building permits. No more waiting weeks for an inspector to show up—now, projects can move faster with secure video checks. This is a game-changer, cutting through permit backlogs that have held us back compared to Miami-Dade and Palm Beach. Local tech leaders like Inspected are already on it, with over 100,000 inspections completed since early 2024.

For contractors, this means faster sign-offs on everything from new builds to remodels, cutting downtime and holding costs in a market where inventory’s up 8% and competition’s fierce. Whether you’re wiring a condo, framing a custom home, or tackling a commercial fit-out, RVIs let you keep projects moving without the old red-tape hassle. Contractors can tap into RVIs by partnering with certified providers like Inspected or checking BORA’s site for RVI certification details. It’s a no-brainer for keeping your crew on schedule and your clients happy

Whether you’re renovating your dream home, flipping a property, or managing a construction site, this means less downtime and more progress.

Job Updates

Job hunters, heads up: CareerSource Broward just dropped August's unemployment stats (holding steady at around 3.2%), and they're rolling out up to $12,000 scholarships for in-demand training in AI and more.
